Storm Babet is expected to wreak havoc on the UK this week with weather warnings issued across the country.
The Met Office has warned the tempest poses a "danger to life" as torrential rain will likely cause flooding, while strong winds will batter some regions. Up to seven inches of rain could accumulate in areas of higher ground.
The storm is expected to hit tomorrow (Wednesday, October 18) with forecasters predicting "extremely heavy rain" which will "cause flooding and disruption". Yellow weather warnings for downpours have been issued from 6am across Yorkshire, the East Midlands, the east of England and the North.

Southwest Scotland and the Lothian borders are also affected and a separate warning has been issued for east Northern Ireland.
On Thursday the warnings will spread and a yellow warning for wind has also been issued for central and northern Scotland, where gale-force gusts could reach 60mph.
Warnings are in place across the country for a staggering 78 hours until Saturday (October 21) with the worst of the storm expected to end by midday. However the forecasters stressed more warnings are likely to be announced in the coming days.

Met Office deputy chief meteorologist Steven Keates said: "Storm Babet will bring impactful rain to many parts of the UK, but especially parts of eastern Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England later this week.
"Heavy and persistent rain will fall onto already saturated ground bringing a risk of flooding. It is important to stay up to date with warnings from your local flood warning agency as well as the local authorities," Keates added.
"As well as heavy rain, Storm Babet will bring some very strong winds and large waves near some eastern coasts too. Gusts in excess of 60mph are possible in eastern and northern Scotland from Thursday."
David Morgan, Flood Duty Manager for the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), said: "Storm Babet will bring heavy rain and high winds across Scotland from Wednesday evening, starting in the South West before moving across to the North East through Thursday and into the weekend.
"Impacts from surface water and rivers are likely, and with catchments saturated from recent heavy rain and flooding, weโre urging people to be prepared for potential flooding."
The Met Office also stressed updates are expected to come throughout the week.
