After this, the police caught up with the pair. At the end of 2020, Novillo was tried for stealing watches, rings, checks, more than $70,000 (£56,101) and the gold bars from five different men.

She told court that her good looks helped her seduce victims through WhatsApp or in nightclubs in Buenos Aires, where she would flirt with them. From here, she would gain access to luxury apartments when they invited her back, usually accompanied by Sosa.

Once inside, she would drug the victims with several different substances to keep them knocked out long enough for her to rob the items. Novillo had a three-year conditional prison sentence for eight robberies issued on 8th February, 2019 and two and a half years of effective prison, on 28th February, 2023.

An investigation into her death is underway.
