A grieving couple say XL Bully dogs should all be "muzzled" after the dangerous breed mauled their pet Chihuahua to death.
David and Laura Williams are still reeling from the loss of little Luca, who was killed in a violent attack carried out by an American XL Bully, which had bit the little pup. The XL Bully has since been put down, and the Williams couple are calling for muzzling orders.
Laura was also bitten during the attack on Friday (October 6), and has since called for action over the death of "her baby". The 27-year-old watched on in horror as the massive 30kg XL Bully threw the pet around "like a toy".

An eyewitness account has since described the scene as the "most horrendous thing I have ever seen in my life." Laura had been walking Luca through a local field when the attack took place.
Laura recalled the incident, saying: "He was on a lead, he’s always on a lead I never take him off a lead. There was a group of kids in the middle of the field and that dog, XL Bully dog, just came running towards us. One of them was shouting ‘no, no, no, no, no'.
"I was going in circles trying to protect him, flying around; I was trying to catch him but I couldn’t because the dog was on me. Luca was just being flung around like a toy. He just wouldn’t let go and I just tried to open the dog's mouth and I just couldn’t."
The dog owner was left repeatedly punching the XL Bully, but even with the help of a local boy and his mother, were unable to save Luca. She added: "He was like a rag doll being shook. It was horrific, I keep on having to relive that.
"I feel guilty because I feel I didn’t protect him enough, although I did everything I could to try and save him." Ringing partner David, 38, she knew it was too late to save their beloved pet and "had to leave him in the other dog's mouth".
David said: "What Laura’s had to go through is horrendous. What we wanted to say is certain breeds of dogs just think about how it’s worth muzzling them every single walk. If that had happened it could avoided the deaths of these two dogs." The owner of the XL Bully has since apologised.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called to the area of Falmouth on Friday at around 3.30pm following a report that an XL Bully dog had attacked and killed a Chihuahua.
"It was also reported that the dog had bitten a person who attempted to intervene, resulting in a minor injury to the person’s hand. The XL Bully was put to sleep at the vets following the incident, at the request of the owner. Enquiries remain ongoing in relation to this matter."
The horror attack comes as the Daily Star report plans to outlaw the breeding of XL Bully dogs next year, with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak calling for the ban of the breed.
