A Spainish mayor has issued a warning to Britons by banning stag and hen dos in a popular holiday hotspot.
Seville, a popular choice for such celebrations, has followed in the footsteps of other cities in Andalusia, such as Cordoba and Malaga, by imposing restrictions on these often boisterous gatherings.
The Seville City Council’s decision to introduce new regulations comes in response to numerous complaints from residents about the disturbances caused by stag and hen parties.
Mayor José Luis Sanz announced this move, though details of the forthcoming ordinance were not provided, it is expected to be in effect by the end of this year.
The amendment to the public safety ordinance aims to give authorities the power to halt or fine disorderly stag and hen activities, joining a growing trend seen in other Spanish cities.

Malaga, known for its vibrant nightlife and picturesque beaches, has already taken the lead in implementing measures to control these gatherings.
In recent years, Malaga has gained popularity as a top destination for pre-wedding parties due to its attractions and the tightening of regulations in other Andalusian cities like Granada and Seville. Now, it is set to have its own set of rules specifically aimed at stag and hen parties.
Under these new rules, individuals will not be permitted to roam the streets in a state of undress, wear only underwear, or display items of a sexual nature or accessories representing genitals.

In essence, props such as inflatable dolls and headgear resembling genitalia will be banned.
Those who fail to comply with the regulations may face fines of up to 750 euros, equivalent to penalties for vandalism, bathing in fountains, or engaging in acrobatics in public areas with bikes or skateboards.
The primary goal of these measures is to ensure that local residents can enjoy a peaceful and respectful coexistence within their neighbourhoods.
A spokesperson from Seville City Hall emphasised the importance of preserving public spaces for everyone’s enjoyment while respecting local norms. “The proliferation of certain types of behaviour in recent years, such as nudism, wearing nothing but underwear, or carrying erotic items in public, means that we have to introduce new regulations.
“Public spaces must be preserved as places where people can meet, coexist, and enjoy their leisure time while respecting others,” the spokesperson stated.
