Longmont police officer helps pull man out of burning car

A Longmont police officer helped two other people pull a man out of a car on fire early Saturday morning.

According to a Longmont Public Safety Facebook post, Officer Justin Hill responded to a single-vehicle crash with three occupants at Clover Basin and Larkspur drives. Upon arriving on scene at 2:07 a.m., Hill saw that the car was on fire and one man was still trapped inside.

Hill first attempted to extinguish the fire. Then, along with two others, Hill bent the car’s window frame and pulled the man from the vehicle. Soon after, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames, according to the post.

Longmont firefighters arrived immediately after the man was removed and extinguished the fire, according to the post. Firefighters then proceeded to provide medical support alongside AMR before the victims were transported to local hospitals.

Alcohol is suspected as a contributor to this crash, according to the post.
