Golden retriever mum confronts pet about broken specs — gets brazen ‘confession’

A brazen golden retriever was caught on camera "confessing" to breaking his 'mums' glasses after she confronted him about a lens being missing.

Animal lovers were left in stitches as the woman, who posts on Reddit as u/abk142, was seen asking her dog Leo what happened to her glasses. In the clip, which has gained 60 upvotes, she was seen holding a pair of wonky specs in front of the dog asking: "Can you tell me what happened to mommy's glasses?"

The two-year-old had chewed the frames, leaving them lopsided and managed to pop out one of the lenses. "What did you do Leo?" she continued.

"Did you do this? Did you take the lense out of momma's glasses?" But the dog didn't seem apologetic about the incident as confidently tried to go in for another chew, leaving the owner saying: "You don't seem very sorry. No!"

The owner was apparently baffled by the dogs interest in her glasses as she explained in the caption: "He is two years old, has never even shown interest in my glasses. It was a sign though, they are like 20 years old.

"Can't help but smile at these adorable creatures whatever they do… mostly good, but sometimes not so good."

Dog lovers were left in hysterics in the comments of the post, which dubbed the score: "Leo: 1, Mom's Glasses: 0", as they thought the pets antics were "cute" but warned the owner that she was encouraging his behaviour.

One user said: "So cute! Leo looks so much like my golden." Another wrote: "Lol, there was a full confession off camera."

A third added: "I love that Goldens go to the proper owners…ones who can laugh at their antics and love them and appreciate them no matter what!"

But a fourth commented: "Cute video. But you waving his favourite toy in front of his face while playfully making human squeeky sounds with him is just going to encourage him to find the glasses and make Mom play with him again."
