Canadian traveler is left stunned after arriving at Austrian hostel to discover it was located INSIDE an IKEA store – and even boasted a rooftop bar on the top floor

A group of travelers were both thrilled and surprised when they arrived at their hostel in Vienna to find it located inside an Ikea.
TikTok user Jess Braun posted a short clip of her Ikea hotel experience after staying at the Jo&Joe Hostel.
In the 14-second clip, Jess showed off the multi-level homewares store, which is on the two upper levels of the store.

Jess showed their journey to their fifth floor hostel, weaving their way through the store to reach the entrance
She filmed them arriving at the store, and weaving through the lower levels of levels amongst customers walking through the showroom, before arriving at their destination.
‘When your hostel is literally inside an Ikea in Vienna,’ Jess wrote on the video.
‘Honestly being one floor above the Ikea food court is a 10/10 rating from me,’ the excited traveler enthusiastically captioned the clip, which has been viewed over 1.2 million times.

According to the Hostel world website, Jo&Joe, located on top of the HÜS at Vienna’s Westbahnhof is the world’s first inner-city Ikea, located on the fifth and sixth floor of the Swedish store.
‘[There’s also] a beer garden on our 1800m² roof terrace on the 7th floor with bars in converted shipping containers,’ the website continued. ‘Sounds amazing? Yes it is!!!’
As per the website, the trendy hostel offers private rooms, dormitories, and atypical configurations.
The rooms range from $53 a night for a bed in mixed dormitory to $640 a night for a private bedroom that sleeps 10, as per hostelsworld.com.
TikTok users were stunned – and excited – by the prospect of staying just an Ikea-issued-paper-tape-measure away from having Swedish meatballs at their fingertips.
‘That Ikea was the highlight of my trip,’ one user enthused.
‘This was my FAVORITE thing during my backpacking trip!! Don’t forget the rooftop bar :)’ one user suggested.
‘Come back drunk and just sleep in a display bed instead,’ joked another.

Others pointed out some of the troubles they had with finding the entrance to their accommodation.
‘Once I booked this hostel but I arrived at night and the Ikea was closed… I spent forever searching for the elevator outside,’ a TikTok user wrote.
One TikTok user had some inspiring words for all guests wanting the Ikea experience.
‘All Ikeas are hostels if you are brave enough,’ the pointed out.
Although it’s not an Ikea hotel, but rather a hostel in top of an Ikea, there is an Ikea hotel for any lovers of the Swedish furniture giant.
Located in Älmhult in Sweden, the hotel open in the 1960s but has since had several expansions, going from it’s original 25 rooms to 254.
The rooms are simply furnished with – as you would expect – Ikea furniture, including high-tech floor lamps that double as wireless chargers.
