Giant cruise ship to sail in 2025 with huge hybrid rollercoaster waterslide

A giant cruise ship is set to sail in 2025 and it will feature the "world’s first hybrid rollercoaster and waterslide".

Guests who take on the Aqua Slidecoaster will be propelled by a magnetic lift along the three-storey attraction with heaps of twists and turns around the ship's funnel that are sure to get the adrenaline pumping. There will be dual slides so you can take on two different courses, so there are mutiple rides to be had (and of course you can race others too!).

The thrilling attraction is one of the biggest highlights that Norwegian Cruise Line has revealed as part of its first look at new cruise ship Norwegian Aqua, taking to the seas in October 2025. There will of course be plenty more fun onboard from the 10-storey free-fall slide to a glass bridge 'OceanWalk' where you can take photos to make all your social media followers jealous.

One other new feature will include the 'Glow Court'; by day it's a sports complex with an interactive LED floor for heaps of different games, while by night it will transform into a huge nightclub and dancefloor.

For those who need a bit of R&R (or to nurse a sore head from the night before), the ship will have an infinity edge pool with plenty of loungers and seating, and the main pool deck will also feature a host of day beds. The ship will also boast the adults-only Vibe Beach Club, but for those with kids there's a 'Splash Academy' for 3-12 year olds, and a teen club for those aged 13-17 years old.

There are some pretty cool luxurious suites onboard too. Those who can splash the cash can book the three-bedroom Haven duplex suites that come with living and dining areas, balconies, floor-to-ceiling windows and serious perks such as 24-hour butler service and access to a concierge. Haven guests also get access to a separate infinity pool, outdoor spa and hot tubs.

Norwegian Cruise Line has remained fairly tight-lipped about what else will be on board but they have promised that "additional new features and highly anticipated guest experiences aboard Norwegian Aqua will be unveiled in the upcoming new year".

For those itching to get on board, you'll need to wait for October 2025 when the ship is due to sail on a series of Caribbean itineraries from Florida's Port Canaveral. You can find out more on ncl.com.

Norwegian Aqua isn't the only new ship to get excited about for 2025. In the same year, the world's biggest cruise ship is about to get a near-identical twin sister! Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas is due to sail next year and will be boast heaps of amazing features including a huge waterpark with SIX record-breaking water slides, infinity pools, a spa, restaurants and EIGHT neighbourhoods for passengers to explore across the 20 decks.

Then in 2025, she's getting a sister ship; Star of the Seas. Star of the Seas is set to be just as huge as Icon, although the cruise line is remaining tight-lipped about exactly what will be on board.
