Croatian island has ‘one of best beaches in the world’ and is home to only 200

A small island just 55 minutes by boat from Croatia’s capital, Dubrovnik, has gathered attention from people all over the world thanks to its beauty.

Lopud is so small visitors can get around by foot, bike or golf buggy – and in fact, no cars are allowed.

According to The Times, Lopud has “one of the best beaches in the world”, Sunj Beach.

Sunj Beach is sandy and is surprisingly affordable, with €10 sunloungers and beach bars serving snacks and drinks for those looking to stay for longer periods of time.

According to The Sun, tourists have “praised how clean the water is, as well as how shallow it is for kids”.

The news outlet also reported that tourist reviews of the island stated that the cafes served “amazing” food.

The Botanical Garden of Lopud is also one of the highlights of the island, along with its quaint harbor.

The quiet island is part of the popular Elaphites archipelago and is often visited on day trips due to its smaller size.

David Beckham and his family have reportedly vacationed there, while Gerald Butler was recently spotted there with his girlfriend.

A ferry to the island of Lopud departs 4 to 5 times a day from Dubrovnik.

The passenger ferry operates between the port of Gruž and the small port in the village of Lopud.

It makes stops at other Elaphiti islands, but the whole journey time is only about 1 hour.

The inexpensive ferry ticket can be bought directly in Jadrolinija Office at the big port Gruž of Dubrovnik.
