The Tata Punch EV will be positioned below the Nexon EV in the brand’s line-up. It will compete with the Citroen eC3.
According to a media report, Tata Motors is likely to launch the Punch EV on December 21, 2023.
Reports suggest that the Punch EV was scheduled to go on sale in October, but the launch was postponed as the carmaker wanted to clear pending orders of the Tiago EV before introducing a new model.
The Punch EV will be based on the ALFA platform and will be powered by Tata’s Gen 2 EV architecture. It will use a liquid-cooled battery and a single electric motor mounted on the front axle.
Spy images suggest that the styling of the Punch EV will be similar to the ICE version. It will carry forward the rugged styling with squared-off wheel arches and C-pillar-mounted rear door handles. The EV is expected to get a Nexon facelift-like front fascia.
On the inside, the Punch EV is expected to get a 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, a digital instrument cluster and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
The Tata Punch EV will be positioned below the Nexon EV in the brand’s line-up. It will compete with the Citroen eC3.
