Dramatic footage shows the moment Israeli jet fighters blew up a key Hezbollah position in Lebanon, according to the nation’s military.<\/p>\n

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it targeted sites from which missiles had been fired towards settlements in the north of Israel.<\/p>\n

In post on X, IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari wrote that Israeli air force fighter jets “attacked a military site of the terrorist organization Hezbollah.”<\/p>\n

He continued: “The attack was carried out in response to launches from Lebanon, towards the settlements of the Western Galilee earlier today.<\/p>\n

“In addition, in the last few hours, a number of launches from Lebanon were detected at IDF positions in the north of the country.”<\/p>\n

He added: “IDF forces attacked the sources of the shooting.”<\/p>\n

Footage that accompanied the post appeared to show an airborne view of targets exploding, but didn’t clarify exactly what was happening in each clip.<\/p>\n

It comes as reports suggest Lebanon mayor Hussein Mansour and a family member have been killed in an Israeli missile strike.<\/p>\n

A relative and Lebanon\u2019s national news agency told Reuters that the missile struck his home a few kilometers from the Israel border.<\/p>\n

According to relative, the shell did not explode but struck Mansour directly.<\/p>\n

Violence at border between Israel and Lebanon escalated on Sunday, with the Iran-backed Hezbollah launching explosive drones and powerful missiles at Israeli positions.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile Israeli airstrikes hitting a number of towns and villages in south Lebanon.<\/p>\n

A Hezbollah official said Israel had increased its attacks in Lebanon, while Eylon Levy, a spokesperson for the Israeli government accused the militant group of \u201cescalating its aggression\u201d.<\/p>\n

Levy said that \u201cthe consequences will be severe for Hezbollah and for the state of Lebanon\u201d if the missile attacks continued, Reuters reports.<\/p>\n
