Footage of the incident shows Duong, 67, being repeatedly tasered in an apartment building in Los Angeles, US, as he lunged at officers.<\/p>\n<p>Duong could be heard telling officers: &quot;I want you to kill me,&quot; but police did not fire any shots. We will continue interviewing any new witnesses that may come forward and complete forensic tests.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Duong&apos;s first victim was killed outside a shop on the corner of 6th and Spring streets in Downtown Los Angeles at about 3.45pm. The killer, who was wearing a baseball cap and carrying a backpack, strolled past his victim before turning around and swinging a large kitchen knife into the man&apos;s head, which he struck several times.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.mirror.co.uk\/incoming\/article31536176.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s615b\/1_lapdJPG.jpg\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<figure data-mod=\"image\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk\/incoming\/article31533126.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s458\/0_MAIN_elmago.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<p> Drug mule linked to &apos;El Chapo&apos; gunned down in bloody LA &apos;party&apos; shootout<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/s2-prod.mirror.co.uk\/@trinitymirrordigital\/chameleon-branding\/publications\/dailystar\/img\/logo-schema-dailystar.png\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The impact of the blows sent Duong flying into the road before he stood up and waved his knife at horrified witnesses. He then walked off and tried to attract the attention of a police patrol.<\/p>\n<p>Officers rushed to the scene and were told the knifeman had then ventured into an apartment building in the 200 block of West 6th Street. There security footage showed him stabbing another passer-by in the corridor before heading to his fourth-story home.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.mirror.co.uk\/incoming\/article31536178.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s615b\/1_lapd-gJPG.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>Police then found the second victim as they lay dying on the floor and went to the apartment. One shouted: &quot;This is the LAPD; anyone in room 417 come out with your hands up!&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Duong then emerged from the room seconds later carrying the bloodied kitchen knife. A non-lethal round was fired and he tumbled backwards into the room before picking himself up again.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.mirror.co.uk\/incoming\/article31535951.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s615b\/1_ladod-ffJPG.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>A police officer demanded: &quot;Hey, put the knife down!&quot; as multiple more shots were heard and tasers were fired. Duong was then heard shouting: &quot;I want you to kill me.&quot; Officers then replied: &quot;No! Drop the knife!&quot;<\/p>\n<p>&quot;I want you to kill me,&quot; Duong repeated as the back-and-forth with police continued. &quot;Drop the knife or we will shoot you!&quot; another officer added.<\/p>\n<p>More taser shots were fired but Duong started stabbing himself, delivering several blows to his own stomach. Duong and his second victim were taken to hospital but were both declared dead.
