Don’t forget your umbrella if you venture out this weekend.

The Met Office has slapped the UK with a huge weather warning for rain for today and Saturday.

It means that even more flooding is feared across the UK – with up to 50mm of rain expected to fall across south west England and south Wales, which is nearly half of the average rainfall Cardiff typically sees in November.

The yellow weather warning has been issued from 9pm on Friday until 3pm on Saturday and forecasters are concerned homes and businesses will be liable to flooding.

It said: “Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.

“Delays or cancellations to train and bus services are possible. Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely.”

There are 94 flood warnings and alerts across the country. This is due to the ground already being saturated following frequent downpours at the start of the month.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Jim Dale, senior meteorologist at British Weather Services, explains more.

He said: “It’s a ‘more rain on sodden ground warning’ in reality – tonight and tomorrow morning into the SW quadrant of the U.K.

“Expecting 15-20mm, so it’s meaningful and adding to that which has fallen over recent weeks. Local flooding entirely possible.”
