A prophet dubbed "Living Nostradamus" has revealed when King Charles may abdicate the throne – and said Prince William might not be the next monarch.

Charles is turning 75 today, his second birthday since coming to the throne in 2022 following the death of Queen Elizabeth II. After he was crowned at 73 he was immediately hit with calls to step down, with commentator Conor Friedersdorf writing for the Atlantic last year: "A more consequential use of Charles’s reign would be to rule briefly and abdicate at 75."

Speaking to the Daily Star, Athos Salomé – who claims to have taken over from French seer Nostradamus, made famous for his psychic predictions – warned Charles could soon leave his post. "From now on the countdown begins," he said ahead of Charles' coronation in May 2023.

"We will find out if he remains in power between 2024 and 2025."

Salomé warned Charles' abdication could come following health issues and said the king should take "extra care." "[Charles] must double the care with his health, problems may arise in his urinary and sexual system, anus (prostate) and genitals," he said.

If Salomé's prediction were to come true, it would see Prince William ascend the throne aged between 41 and 43. However, in a surprise twist, Salomé also said Charles may not abdicate to his eldest son when the time comes for him to step down.

"The Prince of Wales also has the number two in his life, the same frequency as his father Charles III are super connected kabbalistically saying, but with a difference of revolutionising the monarchy when he assumes the royalty," he added. He stopped short of naming a different potential successor to the King.

It comes after a royal expert revealed the "only" reason Charles would abdicate. Commentator Eric Schiffer told the Daily Star the monarch would be unlikely to step down, and would abandon his post under just one set of circumstances.

"King Charles, at 75, is as sharp and able as any global leader and brings an element of grace, wit and majesty consistent with his style that is light years away from being too old to reign," he said.

"There is no way the King would abdicate. The only way I could see the King abdicating is if he felt he was meaningfully unable to fulfil his official duties and obligations to the crown."
