Barcelona’s iconic Sagrada Familia, in Spain, has reached a significant milestone in its 140-year-long construction journey, as the final two towers of the Evangelists were officially opened on Sunday afternoon.

The Apostolic Nuncio Mons. Bernardito Auza led the solemn mass inside the Basilica, joined by Cardinal Joan Josep Omella i Omella, Cardinal Lluís Martínez Sistach, and Auxiliary Bishop of Barcelona, Mons. David Abadías.

Following the mass, the towers of Luke, Mark, Matthew, and John were illuminated, along with the star on the tower of the Virgin Mary and the Nativity and Passion façades.

These lightings, visible both from the street and online, will continue daily until Christmas.
