An American TikToker has shared all of the things she loved about Europe on her trip to France, Spain and Italy.

It comes after she faced backlash for her first video, where she slammed all the things she disliked.

The TikTok by @thestrawberryannie has been seen by over 216,000 people – her previous one where she complained about not enough sauces and no free water was viewed by 4.8 million.

She explained ‘After I posted that video about the things that I didn’t like about Europe, so many people were like ‘I’m never travelling again’ so I made a list about all of the things I did like about Europe.’

Read on for the travel pro’s full list of what she actually did enjoy.

An American TikToker has shared all of the things she loved about Europe on her trip to France, Spain and Italy

The first thing to receive praise from the American was the European club scene.

She said ‘First up, the clubs were bumping, the only thing that was weird was that there was a lot of 16 year old’s in there smoking cigarettes and I’m like 24 so I’m like ‘what are you doing here?’ but other than that, the music was amazing.’

‘They played a lot of American hits and also a lot of Spanish hits – love that.’

She also liked that there was a lot of public transport, explaining that ‘Public transportation is very good for the environment.

‘It did take two to three times as long if you were to just drive, but I do like that it’s pretty affordable and good for the environment.’

One commenter advised ‘you are actually faster with public transport’.

The TikToker’s third thing she liked was that servers in restaurants ‘leave you alone’.

She said ‘I love that, they don’t keep coming up asking you ‘is everything good? do you need anything?’ which I like because I ask for everything when they first come to the table and I never need them again, because I’m a simple girl.’

Similar to her last point, she added ‘I love that there’s no tipping or sales tax.

‘We landed at home and the way that any time you buy anything, anywhere, Americans flip that stupid screen around and they’re gonna say ‘just gonna ask you a couple questions’.

‘You have to tip on buying the dumbest stuff, it’s just crazy.’

Although, one viewer corrected her in the comments, writing ‘You are definitely supposed to tip in europe aswell. maybe not as much but usually us service workers expect around atleast 5-10%’.

She explained ‘After I posted that video about the things that I didn’t like about Europe, so many people were like ‘I’m never travelling again’ so I made a list about all of the things I did like about Europe’

Annie also told viewers that she enjoyed learning different languages.

She explained ‘With language, it’s really cool hearing all the different languages and they really love it when you try to learn their language and speak to them in their language.

‘I would definitely recommend learning hello, goodbye, how are you, thank you, stuff like that.’

Moving towards more niche items on the list, she said she enjoys looking at all the yachts:

‘It’s really fun to walk around and look at all the yachts that the rich American people have around the coast of Europe.

‘We just liked pointing them out and being like ‘oh, that’s the person who owns Walmart.’

The travel pro continued ‘Obviously, the architecture, the history and the colours, it’s just so rich and if you’re a history person, it’s better than anything America will ever have.

‘Those buildings are better than anything in America. The mountains and beaches, no, I think America has them beat on that.

‘Maybe not the Swiss alps, but yeah.’

She added two more strange compliments to the list – walking on cobblestone and the different ambulance noises:

‘Walking on cobblestone is fun, I felt like I was a little Victorian Renaissance person.

‘All of their ambulances sound different and it’s really cool to hear the different wee-woos’.

She explained that she felt ‘so safe’ in Europe because ‘the only people who were strapped were the military and the police.’

Adding ‘Nobody else had guns because that’s a crime there so I felt safe 24/7.

‘We even had a walk home for like 40 minutes in the middle of the night and we did not feel threatened at all.’

One European commented ‘I wouldn’t say its so safe and gun free anymore, but compared to US I see your point of view’.

Next, she praised the number of people who use biles rather than cars.

Annie said ‘Bikes are everywhere, they’re so cute, there’s not a lot of cars so the air just smells fresher and it’s just better for the environment too and better for your health.’

She said ‘Sometimes the alcohol is cheaper than the water, they really like their alcohol over there. Well, I think we do too,’ which appeared to be controversial.

One shocked viewer commented ‘There is PRECISELY no country where alcohol is cheaper than water.’

Nearing the end of her list, the influencer said ‘There’s cute little street markets and farmers markets like everywhere and every day it’s just so cute and I love buying things.’

She was also surprised that children were ‘fearless,’ adding that ‘Kids just walk to school by themselves, just walking, no parents around. It’s a safe place.’

She continued ‘I saw a lot of braless people, a lot of nude people on the beaches, mothers breastfeeding their children in public no shame.

‘I feel like especially in the south, in the US it’s still a little taboo but in Europe they don’t care and I like that.’

Finally, the TikToker talked about free healthcare, although it confused her.

She questioned ‘Lastly, free healthcare which is confusing because I talked to a couple from like Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and one of the girls said that she pays $150 a month for healthcare.

‘Then another girl said that her taxes are really high, so is it really free if you’re paying for it more in taxes?’

One Spanish viewer explained ‘healthcare is free. At least in Spain. Once you start working there is a small part of your pay check that goes to taxes for healthcare’.

An American chimed in with ‘Healthcare and education are so affordable in Europe it’s almost free compared to the enormous cost here.

‘As you get older as an American and need medication and surgery it’s thousands of dollars a year it’s insane.

‘One surgery after insurance they still wanted to charge me $160 thousand!’

Annie concluded her follow up videos by warning ‘Anyway, don’t take everything that I said I didn’t like and decide that you don’t ever wanna go there, because it’s still a wonderful experience and I will continue to go.

‘I’m just a spoiled brat of an American and I love convenience and I love comfort and also I love my home.’
