A royal expert believes it's highly unlikely Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will celebrate King Charles ' birthday with him – and said "the Queen 's ghost" is more likely to make an appearance.

Charles will turn 75 on Tuesday (November 14) and is set to celebrate at Clarence House, surrounded by close friends and family. However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex aren't expected to attend the bash.

Sources initially reported Harry had replied "no" to the King's invitation, which is expected to see friends and family gather at Clarence House. However, the Prince's spokesperson has since hit back at the rumours and said there had been "no contact regarding an invitation."

Speaking to the Daily Star, royal commentator Eric Schiffer of Reputation Management Consultants said: "There is a better chance of the Queen’s ghost visiting King Charles; party than Harry and Meghan being invited or setting foot at the celebration. They may send a note or a small gift, and that would be taken well, but they are highly unlikely to do anything more."

The lack of invitation is hardly surprising given the ongoing rift between Harry and Meghan and their royal relatives. The pair have been at odds with the Firm since before they stepped down from their official posts in 2020, leaving Britain for Montecito where they now live with their two children.

Since then the pair have aimed a series of barbed accusations at their estranged family, with Charles often in the firing line. In his bombshell 2023 memoir Spare, Harry claimed his father told the late Princess Diana his birth was wonderful, but "his work was done" now the pair had welcomed an "heir and a spare."

Harry, who is sixth in line to the throne, also claimed his dad put on an emotionless display after the People's Princess was killed in a 1997 car crash. The duke claimed Charles did not hug him and "felt like a politician" during public appearances after the death.
