{"id":120795,"date":"2023-11-05T16:19:28","date_gmt":"2023-11-05T16:19:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/yourclomid.com\/?p=120795"},"modified":"2023-11-05T16:19:28","modified_gmt":"2023-11-05T16:19:28","slug":"israel-hamas-war-could-plunge-world-into-its-biggest-recession-since-the-1930s","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yourclomid.com\/world-news\/israel-hamas-war-could-plunge-world-into-its-biggest-recession-since-the-1930s\/","title":{"rendered":"Israel-Hamas war could plunge world into its biggest recession since the 1930s"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Senior economists have warned that the Israel-Hamas war could plunge the world into its biggest recession since the 1930s.<\/p>\n<p>Banking experts Larry Fink and Jamie Dimon claim the conflict on top of Russia\u2019s invasion of Ukraine could flatten global trade.<\/p>\n<p>They believe the uncertainty sparked by the bloodshed would send energy prices and food costs soaring and consumer confidence plunging.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Fink, chief executive of BlackRock, the world\u2019s biggest asset manager, said the trouble has created \u201ca whole new future\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cWhen the Russian invasion occurred in Ukraine, we said that the peace dividend is over.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGeopolitical risk is a major component in shaping all our lives. We are having rising fear throughout the world, and less hope.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRising fear creates a withdrawal from consumption or spending more. So fear creates recessions in the long run,.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we continue to have rising fear, the probability of a European recession grows and the probability of a US recession grows.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr Dimon, who chairs America\u2019s biggest bank, JP Morgan, called the consequences of war in the Middle-East and Eastern Europe \u201cquite scary and unpredictable\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cHere in the US we continue to have a strong economy.
