A Travel Confidence Index launched by travel association Abta today reveals that 61% of people are \u201cextremely confident\u201d or \u201csomewhat confident\u201d about going overseas.<\/p>\n
Graeme Buck, director of communications at Abta, said the results showed \u201csome remarkable positivity among the population\u201d.<\/p>\n
Just two out of 10 told researchers they were \u201cnot at all confident\u201d or \u201cless confident\u201d, with 19% neutral.<\/p>\n
The overall score was +41 for the UK population.<\/p>\n
The survey will be discussed at Abta\u2019s 2023 convention opening tomorrow in Bodrum, Turkey.<\/p>\n
READ MORE: <\/strong> Israel frantically pulls diplomats out of Turkey after Erdogan Holocaust claims<\/strong><\/p>\n Notable confidence scores came from those who booked a package (+70) and via a travel agency (+72), with those aged 25 to 34 (+53) and families (+52) also rating well.<\/p>\n Over-65s were among those feeling less confident to travel than the average, with a score of +33.<\/p>\n Researchers also asked holidaymakers for \u201cconfidence boosters\u201d when travelling overseas.<\/p>\n Having a valid passport and\/or visa (67%) came top then taking out travel insurance (54%). The role of package holidays was also key with 53% of respondents rating being able to get home if their travel company goes bust as essential.<\/p>\n Almost half (49%) said knowing the total price in advance and having financial protection (also 49%) were important to set their minds at ease.<\/p>\n Don’t miss… <\/strong> <\/p>\n
