Ryanair explores the 'beautiful' surroundings of Faro in Portugal<\/h3>\n

Brits looking at their next summer holiday are in luck as Skyscanner\u2019s latest 2023 Travel Trends\u00a0report has just been published.<\/p>\n

The report unveils all the destinations that have seen a significant price drop in terms of flights when compared to 2022.<\/p>\n

Topping the list is the incredibly scenic city of Faro, in Portugal, with economy class return tickets from\u00a0the UK\u00a0down by 24 percent \u2013 almost a quarter.<\/p>\n

The coastal city of Faro is proving a smash-hit with holidaymakers from the UK and beyond.<\/p>\n

Faro, which is the capital of the country’s popular Algarve region, has average July temperatures of 29C and is the perfect getaway for those seeking to relax in the sun.<\/p>\n

Although technically a city, Faro is home to around 60,000 people, which is less than the town of Blackpool.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the country\u2019s southern-most city and therefore is regularly sun-soaked from early spring into autumn.<\/p>\n

And not only is the city steeped in culture, it’s got strong links to Britain and one of the world\u2019s most famous universities.<\/p>\n

In 1597, the Earl of Essex plundered the city, stealing hundreds of priceless texts from the library in the Bishop\u2019s Palace.<\/p>\n

He and his men then razed much of the city to the ground. The texts he stole now sit in Oxford University\u2019s Bodleian Library.<\/p>\n

But for those looking to leave the continent to explore farther lands without breaking the bank, Algiers, in Algeria, in next on the list.<\/p>\n

Algiers is the capital city of Algeria, on the country\u2019s Mediterranean coast, and is famous for its whitewashed buildings of the Kasbah, a medina with steep streets, Ottoman palaces and an old citadel.<\/p>\n

In third place, the iconic city of Nice, in France, is certain to appease beach-lovers and culture connoisseurs alike thanks to its artistic offering.<\/p>\n

But that\u2019s not all, as also named in the list for their air travel inexpensiveness are Dalaman and Antalya in Turnkey; Zurich in Switzerland, Boston and Los Angeles in the US, Frankfurt in Germany; and finally New York.<\/p>\n
