{"id":120358,"date":"2023-10-24T12:01:39","date_gmt":"2023-10-24T12:01:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/yourclomid.com\/?p=120358"},"modified":"2023-10-24T12:01:39","modified_gmt":"2023-10-24T12:01:39","slug":"carol-vorderman-urged-to-admit-she-was-wrong-as-lee-anderson-vindicated-by-ofcom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yourclomid.com\/politics\/carol-vorderman-urged-to-admit-she-was-wrong-as-lee-anderson-vindicated-by-ofcom\/","title":{"rendered":"Carol Vorderman urged to admit she was wrong as Lee Anderson vindicated by Ofcom"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>GB News: Lee Anderson on Vorderman attack on Tories<\/h3>\n<p>Carol Vorderman has been urged to admit she was wrong after claiming Lee Anderson&#8217;s interview with Suella Braverman on his GB News show breached Ofcom rules.<\/p>\n<p>The media regulator yesterday confirmed no rules were broken when the Tory deputy chairman sat down with the Home Secretary to discuss immigration for his Lee Anderson&#8217;s Real World programme in September.<\/p>\n<p>Former Countdown presenter Vorderman previously took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to call on her followers to complain to Ofcom.<\/p>\n<p>Following the watchdog&#8217;s decision on Monday, commentator Adam Brooks said: &#8220;So Carol Vorderman, Ofcom have ruled that Lee Anderson&#8217;s interview with Suella Braverman did not break Ofcom rules.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You told millions via your Twitter\/X account that it wasn\u2019t allowed\u2026 Were you wrong yeah?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mr Anderson added: &#8220;Proving her tweets lack any sort of credibility.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Vorderman, who is a fierce critic of the Conservatives, had given instructions to her 800,000 followers on complaining to Ofcom about Mr Anderson&#8217;s interview with Ms Braverman.<\/p>\n<p>She said ahead of the broadcast: &#8220;This is not permitted by Ofcom regulation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Lee Anderson (deputy Tory chair) interviewing Suella Braverman (Home Secretary) on GB News. This was not a host balancing an argument, nor did the inclusion of others later in the programme, detract from this self-admitted and obvious bias.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It happened before with Esther McVey interviewing Jeremy Hunt on the same channel, and Ofcom found a breach was made.
