A racy model has blackmailed a bloke who "liked" her picture, by threatening to tell his girlfriend he was looking at her content.

Jodie Gaffney, 25, has avoided a prison sentence for demanding a series of cash instalments from an unnamed man who had liked one of her spicier snaps. Gaffney had asked for £40 in the first instalment before increasing with a second request of £150.

The man paid out on the first payment but refused the second, at which point he came clean to his girlfriend and said he felt "embarrassed and ashamed".

Northampton Crown Court has since heard Gaffney "did not really understand what was wrong" with demanding the payments from the coupled-up victim. Her extortion was uncovered by police who nabbed her phone after she assaulted a woman in her own home.

OnlyFans model Gaffney has since been sentenced to 22 months in prison, suspended for two years after the judge took a "wholly exceptional" course of action in dealing with her. The blackmail ordeal was discovered by police following an investigation into an assault.

Prosecutor Caroline Bray explained the situation, where her client found himself receiving cash demands from Gaffney after liking photos on her "f***in, fetishization and self play" website. Gaffney had deemed the website a "filthy page".

Blackmail evidence was presented to the court, with one text reading: "If you do not pay me £40 for an image I will tell your girlfriend you liked my photo." Another demand was received soon after Gaffney's victim had sent through the £40.

Ms Bray said: "He hoped that was the end of it. She sent him another demand for £150. At that point he refused. She then sent a screenshot of messaging his girlfriend to tell her."

Details of the blackmail came out when Gaffney and another woman, Tasharna Spiers, 25, had later visited an unnamed woman and taken a bath in her shower following a social media dispute. The pair had launched an attack on the homeowner soon after.

Gaffney pleaded guilty to blackmail, with her representative, Michael Fullerton, saying his client had made a "serious" mistake. He said: "She put her hands up to these matters at the first opportunity."

Judge David Herbert KC said to Gaffney: "I will not give you a second chance. It is a mean and unpleasant offence. It's most certainly not part and parcel of what you were doing on social media."

Will Forber-Heyward, defending Spiers, said his client was deeply sorry and was hoping to study at university following trial. Spiers was sentenced to nine months in prison, suspended for 18 months, and must take part in 20 rehabilitation activity days and carry out 60 hours of unpaid work.

Both women were also banned from contacting their assault victim for five years through a restraining order.
