An unlucky £1million National Lottery winner has had their prize taken from them after failing to come forward with the winning ticket.

The unlucky person bagged the winning prize on the UK Millionaire Maker draw March 31, 2023, but failed to come forward with 180 days of the draw being made. Sadly for the winner, the winning prize has now been withdrawn and will now go towards a huge £30million pot for National Lottery-funded projects around the country.

The National Lottery's Senior Winners' Advisor, Andy Carter – the bloke who tells winners that they are now multi-millionaires – said: “Unfortunately, I can confirm that the ticket-holder did not come forward within the deadline to claim their prize and has now sadly missed out on this substantial amount of money.

“However, the money will now add to the £30m raised each week for National Lottery-funded projects. Players can check their tickets online by downloading the National Lottery app or at national-lottery.co.uk.

“Players can also buy and check tickets in retail. Playing online via the app or website means that your ticket is checked, and you get an email notification if you win a prize. You can also scan your retail tickets on the National Lottery app to check if you're a winner.”

The unlucky winner might not be alone in their sadness for much longer, however, as two more people have just a few more weeks to claim their big prizes. A UK Millionaire Maker from the April 21 draw has until October 18 to collect – with that ticket being bought from East Riding of Yorkshire.
