Called Bard, the AI has picked Luton as the worst place in the country, and has done so for five very specific reasons – high crime rates, poor air quality, lack of investment in infrastructure, high unemployment rate and high poverty rates. Luton, famous for having an airport and a Premier League football club, has often been named high up in lists of the UK's worst of grimmest places.

“It also has a relatively high unemployment rate and a large proportion of its population living in poverty. It has one of the highest crime rates in the UK, particularly for violent crime. This can make residents feel unsafe and can deter investment in the town, and it is home to a number of major roads and industrial estates, which contribute to poor air quality – this can have a negative impact on the health of residents.

“Luton has been criticized for the lack of investment in its infrastructure, such as roads, public transport, and schools, which can make it difficult for residents to get around and access essential services.”
