Migrants are being guaranteed \u201ca minimum of three-star\u201d hotels, a Home Office contract has revealed.<\/p>\n
The Government also wants asylum seekers to be booked in rooms \u201cclose to amenities and transport networks.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Home Office is under intense pressure to cut the \u00a38 million-per-day hotel bill.<\/p>\n
But the most recent contract issued by the Home Office stated: \u201cThe location of the accommodation will be carried out at locations close to amenities and transport networks. Contracted venues should be at least a minimum of three stars.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sir John Hayes, a close ally of Home Secretary Suella Braverman said: \u201cMy constituents wouldn\u2019t expect any illegal immigrant to be housed in a place they couldn\u2019t afford to stay in themselves.<\/p>\n
