Mykola Volkivskyi, a former adviser to Ukraine’s government, believes the pair will meet as the G20 summit kicks off in New Delhi, India on the evening of September 9. The date also marks the creation of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, more widely known as North Korea.

One of the topics will also be the provision of humanitarian food by Russia to the people of North Korea.

“Putin may face a difficult negotiation process, because Pyongyang may ask a very high price for its weapons which Russia is so eager to obtain.”‌

Don’t miss…

We use your sign-up to provide content in ways you’ve consented to and to improve our understanding of you. More info

Russia has suffered so-called “shell hunger” throughout the war, running low on ammunition particularly after Ukraine began targeting Moscow’s depots behind the front lines.

Declassified American intelligence last year revealed that Russia was buying millions of North Korean rockets and artillery shells, however now it appears Putin is coming back to the hermit kingdom to make another deal.

In the past, there have even been instances of Ukrainian troops capturing North Korean-made ammunition from Russian forces after their positions were overrun.

Although Western sanctions have not completely crippled Russia’s economy due to high energy prices allowing Moscow to fill its coffers from oil and gas sales, they have hurt Putin’s ability to supply his military.

Russia has now turned to pariah states like North Korea and Iran for weapons. The two nations have little to lose as they are already largely under international sanctions.

Follow our social media accounts here on http://facebook.com/ExpressUSNews and ExpressUSNews

Source: Read Full Article

North Korea visited by Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu North Korean leader Kim Jong-un will likely travel to Russia to meet Vladimir Putin on September […]

[1
