Driving School Beckenham showed off the simple solution on their ‘world_driving’ TikTok account.<\/p>\n

The expert stressed travelling in stop and start traffic, a regular feature of major cities, can give road users the \u201cworst fuel economy\u201d.<\/p>\n

To save the pennies, drivers should not race up to the car behind and brake sharply but instead take their time.<\/p>\n

Road users should \u201cbrake gently\u201d and cruise up to the car behind which will not take as much out of a vehicle.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cDriving in stop-and-go traffic typically gives you the worst fuel economy, It is also more wearing on certain car components.<\/p>\n

“To save fuel try not to speed up and brake harshly, Instead accelerate lightly and brake gently in plenty of time. This not only saves fuel but is also a less stressful way of driving.\u201d<\/p>\n

The AA has admitted driving smoothly would ensure motorists used less petrol and diesel for each tip.<\/p>\n

Specialists have also urged drivers to read the road ahead and anticipate their next move which may avoid unnecessary braking.<\/p>\n
