The dust is settling on a thrilling and vibrant bank holiday weekend at Notting Hill Carnival, but now the big job of returning the posh part of London back to normal begins.

Reports claim over two million revellers descended on the well-to-do neighbourhood over the three-day period, with jubilant scenes celebrating Caribbean culture.

During the weekend the famous Windrush legacy was honoured in a marvellous exhibition of food, drink, music and dancing with feathers and colourful clothing the uniform.

The usual stages popped up in the street to blast out a showcase of everything from reggae to dancehall and jungle to afrobeats, while street food vendors dished up a wealth of incredible food for revellers to gorge on.

But while most attendees, who included a noticeably high number of children, will have come away with nothing but a positive taste in their mouths after the celebration – apart from the challenge of getting out of the crowds – now the less enjoyable job of clearing up is underway.
