Woman wins scratchcard jackpot lottery for third time in 3 years from same shop

A retired housekeeper has become a triple success after winning the lottery for the third time in three years from the same shop.

The woman, from Maryland, USA, bagged $50,000 ( £37,503.1 ) in a scratchcard jackpot lottery for the third time since 2018, earlier this month.

The 61-year-old said she "couldn't believe" her luck after she stopped at Talbert’s Ice & Beverage Service in Bethesda, Maryland and secured the whopping sum after purchasing a few $5 Lucky instant tickets.

In August 2018, she won a $50,000 Bonus Cash and picked up $50,000 again, with another instant ticket just two months later, reports Fox 5 News.

"People play every day and not win," she said. "It’s amazing that I won three times."

"When I saw that message, ‘See Lottery,’ I just left immediately and scratched off the rest of the ticket in the car."

The lucky winner has become a familiar face at Maryland Lottery headquarters after visiting them with her best friend to claim her latest prize.

"When she told me, I was so happy for her," her best friend said.

"It was hard to believe that she won $50,000 again."

She plans to use her winnings to help fund home improvements.
