Putin’s ‘lover’ buys two top secret mansions to avoid Ukraine war sanctions

Russian president Vladimir Putin's "lover" Alina Kabaeva, 39, has purchased two new secret mansions in a NATO-listed country to avoid sanctions over the Ukraine war, according to an opposition source.

Properties in Turkey were arranged by an intermediary and close aide of the country's president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for Kabaeva, the source has suggested.

Speculation comes from Russian-born Israeli businessman Leonid Nevzlin, 62, a leading opposing figure to Vladimir Putin and former co-owner of oil giant Yukos, who says Kabaeva has received two properties to counter Western sanctions.

Nevzlin has also claimed that security guards owned and working for the President are on hand to guard the property and expensive homes, with the presidential security group "allocated" to the "homes" of the mega rich.

The 62-year-old added that "through a close aide of Erdogan… organised the purchase of a summer house for Alina Kabaeva in southern Turkey and a house in Istanbul."

No specifics were given on the two supposed properties, but it is believed that Kabaeva is attempting to counter British, EU and Canadian sanctions by listing the properties.

Kabaeva has been sanctioned by worldwide powers due to her alleged connection to Putin, with some alleging the pair have had several children together.

Official denials of the relationship have followed, but western powers have sanctioned the 39-year-old regardless.

Nevzlin gave no specific details over the claims of the two alleged houses, and in April alleged that Russian defence minister Sergei Shoigu was "out of the game" after suffering a "massive heart attack".

Shoigu's has been seen less in public recently but made an appearance during May's Victory Parade.

Nevzlin's claim comes amid evidence that Kabaeva uses a £32million ($40million) Falcon 7X that flies under the tail number RA-09009.

The leased aircraft is said to carry high-profile passengers protected by the Federal Security Service, according to an investigation led by the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project.

Kabaeva is rumoured to have at least two or three children with the Russian president, and there are now fresh rumours over another bout of pregnancy for the 39-year-old.

Claims that Putin was "subdued and withdrawn" over the news which was reported on the General SVR Telegram channel, which has separately claimed Putin is suffering from cancer and Parkinson's disease.

The news of Putin's allegedly failing health comes as Daily Star reported that the Russian president's health had been "deteriorating for the last five years".

Rumours have circulated about the health of the Russian despot for years but a former member of MI6 spoke out on the reported health scares of Putin, saying that Putin was "quite seriously ill."
