Man dangles from Trump Tower with a knife demanding to speak to President

A man has been pictured dangling from Chicago's Trump International Hotel and Tower.

The individual was seen attached to a rope as Chicago Police Department confirmed officers responded to reports of a man threatening suicide.

He was demanding to speak to Donald Trump and the media, according to local reports.

The Asian man was said to be armed with a knife and threatening cut through the rope if he didn't get access to the US President, Mirror Online reports.

He is dangling from the 16th floor balcony of the 98-storey building in the 400 block of North Wabash, with police confirming reports were first received around 5.30pm local time.

Chicago is six hours behind the UK. A SWAT team and Marine Unit are also at the scene, along with firefighters, while police are on the balcony above the man.

Photos and video footage show the man hanging in an abseiling position in line with the word 'Trump' in the building name.

An eyewitness, aged 29, told the Mirror Online: "A man is currently hanging off the side of the tower.

"There are police on top of the tower and in boats on the river. Not sure how he got up there but has been there over an hour.
