Fans of a builder who was cut in half by a forklift called on Elon Musk to stop "building f***ing rockets to Mars" to fund a "bionic revolution" and save him.
Loren Schauers was cut in half in the horror forklift accident almost four years ago.
The builder, from Great Falls in Montana, USA, has been living without his legs and right forearm for over two-and-a-half years after doctors were forced to perform radical surgery in order to save his life.

After traffic pushed the forklift he was driving too close to the edge of a bridge, Loren fell 50ft. The forklift then fell on top of him, severing his forearm and mangling his lower body.
Fearing that he might die without drastic action, doctors performed a hemicorporectomy – meaning that everything below Loren’s waist was removed.
Despite the horrendous situation he now finds himself in, Loren, together with his loving wife Sabia, maintains a regular social media presence providing an upbeat commentary on his unique life.
His never-say-die attitude has earned him legions of fans.

A GoFundMe page to finance the purchase of a Six Million Dollar Man-style bionic arm fro Loren has already raised over $100,000 (£82,950) against an original $10,000 (£8,295) goal.
But commenting on the plucky American’s Instagram page, one fan wrote that, “instead of building f*****g rockets to Mars, which are pointless,” Elon Musk should channel some of his billions into research on “prosthesis and bionic evolution to help people like Loren”.
Loren's fan added: "I hope that God sees them, and to me Loren is a warrior and success."
Elon Musk's Neuralink computer-brain interface has been hailed as a potential revolution in helping people suffering from paralysis – and devices such as the Rewalk exoskeleton have already enabled some people with severe mobility issues to walk again.

But Loren's Instagram follower – who goes by the name Northern Cross – thinks that there is much more that the world's richest man could be doing.
Several people agreed with the sentiment, as they congratulated Loren and Sabia on their second wedding anniversary.
The couple can’t be sure how many years they will have together. Sabia says that Loren's life expectancy is uncertain.

She said that people with similar injuries live drastically shortened lives as a result: "The average is about 11 years and the record-holder was 24 years.
"But none of them were in the same situation as Loren.
"If we go off of that we are hoping Loren has 40 plus years left with us”, she said, adding that it was difficult for them to make an accurate prediction as Loren’s case was so rare.
