Britons are being braced to expect another heatwave summer as the weather plumes "significantly" towards the second half of May.
Despite the time of year, temperatures over in Spain have been way above what is normally expected, with areas such as Seville experiencing up to 10C over the average, with some places recording up to 38C.
No Spanish city is expected to be below 20C today (May 6) and the country will continue to face high temperatures into next week, with no signs of rain clouds on the horizon.

The UK is also set to feel the heat, with British Weather Services telling the Daily Express that climate change could ultimately generate similar conditions here.
However, the jury is still out on the forecast for today (Saturday, May 6), with the much-anticipated Coronation of King Charles III taking place in London possibly facing changeable conditions.
Senior meteorologist Jim Dale said: "Climate change is almost certainly at work and more to come as the summer unfolds.
"As for the UK, patience is required, but the second half of May shows signs of warming, maybe significantly, but not to Spain’s current standards."
He added: "40C is an exceptional temperature for the UK so it will take more global warming to peak at that kind of temperature again, which if we get the right weather scenario is entirely possible."

The Met Office has said that temperatures in the UK are set to be "above average" by the end of May, but with the proviso that it will not be wall-to-wall sunshine, according to its forecast covering May 19 to June 2.
It said: "Confidence is low for this period, with fairly equal chances of fine or changeable weather.
"However, there is a slightly higher than normal chance of unsettled weather in the south. Winds are expected to be generally light. Temperatures are more likely to be above average overall."
